Terms and Conditions

Please read our terms and conditions before placing an order. By completing an order you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.  Please contact us with any queries you may have concerning these terms before placing your order. The price and availability of goods on our website is subject to change without notice.  A delivery charge is added to your order value as appropriate.  Full payment must be received before despatch of your order can be made. Payment will be collected by PayPal but we also accept cheques (made payable to
Do Yourself a Favour) and bank transfers (please contact us for bank details).
 
We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time, and you agree to abide by the most recent version of this:
 
  1. All goods and/or services purchased and/or hired from Do Yourself a Favour shall be subject to these terms and conditions and, in addition, the Client by authorising or allowing the goods to be delivered is deemed to have confirmed the Contract and to have accepted these terms and conditions
  1. No verbal representations or arrangements are recognised by Do Yourself a Favour and these terms and conditions shall only be modified by a supplementary written Contract
  1. There may be minor variations between the goods as shown or described on our website and those despatched to you. Goods despatched will always be of a comparable or superior quality. We reserve the right to choose an appropriate replacement to your specified colour or size should the necessity arise. However we will endeavour to notify you of such a change whenever possible
  1. Hired equipment will remain the property of Do Yourself a Favour and should only be used for its intended purpose
  1. We shall be under no liability in respect of any defect arising from willful damage, abnormal usage conditions, failure to follow our instruction (whether oral or written) misuse, alteration or repair of goods
  1. No responsibility can be accepted for either injury or damage caused by the use of items purchased and/or equipment hired and particular attention should be paid to surfaces on which lanterns and candles are standing
  1. The Client is responsible for the hired equipment from time of delivery until collection and shall not sell, pledge, keep or otherwise deal with or part possession with the hired equipment
  1. The Client is responsible for breakages and losses during the term of hire; in the unlikely event that either or both should occur, the cost of replacing the hired items will be deducted from the breakage deposit. Should the cost of replacing items exceed this amount a subsequent invoice for the remaining cost will be sent to the Client within 7 working days and the Client will be given 30 days in which to reimburse Do Yourself a Favour
  1. Should breakages or losses of hired equipment arise, no substitute items can be accepted
  1. Damage of hired items through damp or wet will be charged
  1. All hired goods supplied to the Client are covered against the risk of damage by fire, storm or tempest. The Client will make good to Do Yourself a Favour all losses or damages to Do Yourself a Favour's furniture hired (other than fair wear and tear or loss or damage by fire, storm or tempest) unless it is proved that such loss be caused by negligence of Do Yourself a Favour
  1. Full payment is required prior to the commencement of the hire period. No hire will commence until receipt of full payment. Failure to pay on time will prevent your hire from taking place
  1. All hire charges are based on 1-3 days hire. Longer periods will be extra as indicated at the time of order
  1. A delivery and collection charge for hired items will be made as agreed at the time of the order and may be subject to extra charges for deliveries outside normal working hours. All deliveries and collections, including aborted deliveries and collections, will be charged for
  1. Effort will be made when delivering hired items to park our vehicle/s without contravening parking restrictions. If where we have to deliver falls outside this category (i.e. Red Routes, double yellow lines, resident's parking, etc), and we have not been advised or provided with a suitable permit by the Client prior, and a penalty charge is incurred, this will be payable by the Client
  1. Staff of Do Yourself a Favour are not allowed to erect or dismantle furniture, unless with prior agreement, for which a charge may be made
  1. In respect of hire items, any special storage or removal arrangements (which must be agreed beforehand) are the Client's responsibility and no liability will be accepted
  1. Amendments or cancellations must be submitted in writing (email is sufficient)
  1. In the event of the Client cancelling the booking for a hire the following will apply
    • For any cancellations with less than 31 days notice, a minimum payment of 50% of the total cost of the items and/or service as detailed in the contract will be payable by the Client (excluding breakage deposit)
    • If a courier has already been booked the Client will be responsible for paying these charges
    • Any cancellations within 14 days of the event will be charged at the full cost
    • Any items purchased or manufactured especially for the Client will be charged in full once purchased/production has begun
  1. Any unpaid cancellation charges after 30 days of invoice will be passed to as collections agency who will act on our behalf and charges will be added to your invoice
  1. Whilst every effort will be made by Do Yourself a Favour to carry out any order accepted, the full performance of it is subject to variation or cancellation by Do Yourself a Favour consequent upon Act of God, war, strikes, lock-outs or other labour disturbances, fire, flood, restrictions on the use of transport, fuel or power requisitioning, shortage of material or transport or labour or any other cause beyond the control of Do Yourself a Favour. In the event of frustration of the contract due to any of the above causes the Contract shall be deemed to be complete and on Do Yourself a Favour giving notice to the effect the Client shall be liable to indemnify Do Yourself a Favour and pay them a sum equivalent to the aggregate of the costs incurred by Do Yourself a Favour in labour and materials sub-contracts and incidentals up to the date of the notice

Payments
Online transactions will be handled securely by our PayPal system. Once you have submitted your order we must receive payment within 48 hours. If you email us your order you will be sent a PayPal notification via email advising of payments due. 
 
 
Amendments to orders (not applicable to items hired/set up service/Sweet Buffets)
If you change your mind about the content of your order e.g. you wish to increase or decrease numbers, you must notify us in writing within 3 days of sending payment (email is sufficient but please contact us by telephone if you do not receive notification of receipt within 24 hours).

In the event of items being out of stock or unavailable we reserve the right to dispatch part orders. Back orders will be dispatched when the goods become re-available. Occasionaly we may send alternatives to items ordered. You will be advised if this is the case. If you are unhappy with the alternative product(s) sent you can return them for a full refund including postage costs. Please contact us to arrange a collection of unwanted items in these circumstances. 
 

Cancellations (not applicable to items hired/set up service/Sweet Buffets)
If we receive your cancellation request before your favours are assembled or despatched, we will return your monies (in some cases a £5 admin fee will be retained) and no further payment will be sought.
 
As all our sweets are ordered fresh for your event, once an order for these have been placed we are unable to cancel or refund this part of your order.
 
 
Returns (not applicable to items hired/set up service/Sweet Buffets)
We are confident that you will be delighted with your purchase but if for any reason you are unhappy with your items once received, you can return them to us within 7 days of receipt, in their original condition with all packaging intact, for a full refund (minus delivery charges) or exchange at our discretion. Returns must be sent via recorded post as no responsibility will be taken by Do Yourself a Favour for items not received.
 
For hygiene purposes we can not accept any returned items containing sweets or food items.

Items on special order, assembled favours i.e. boxes, filled glass jars, will not be refunded - this includes any personalised/customised items.
 
Delivery and/or collection costs can not be refunded unless otherwise stated. 
 
 
Refunds will be made via the same method payment was made within 30 days. 
 
 
Damaged/Missing Items (not applicable to items hired/set up service/Sweet Buffets)
On very rare occasions some items may arrive damaged or may be missing. Please contact us immediately and we will be happy to replace them. Please retain and take photos of the damaged merchandise, internal and external packaging for a possible claim by us with the carrier. You must report damage or missing items to us within 7 days from the time you have received your order and should not have passed the event date. We can only replace items that are returned.
 
Please note that glass jars damaged in transit are not covered by our insurance and are therefore non refundable/replaceable.
 
 
Descriptions
Great care has been taken to ensure prices, descriptions, dimensions and colours are specified as accurately as possible. An exact colour likeness is not always possible due to photographic reproduction and browser software.  Variations may occur periodically and we reserve the right to offer alternatives, where necessary.
